TV Antenna Rotors

Antenna rotors

A rotor is a device which will allow user to rotate the antenna in any direction. The outdoor TV antenna is switched on and off manually. This function is performed by the control unit. The control unit is placed inside house near the television set. The wire carries the power and controls the signals with the help of indoor control unit.

Advantage of the rotors

A rotor is very useful when the receiving of the television signals is difficult. A rotator is mainly useful when signals are received from many directions, which a fixed antenna with a narrow beam width cannot catch with efficiency. A rotator enables the viewer to change the direction of the antenna towards the desired transmitting tower. A rotator is useful when antenna needed to be rotated in the direction where the antenna can optimum signal. It also solves the problem variation in the signal.

The signal variation occurs mainly due to change in atmosphere and conditions of signal distraction. It permits the user to enjoy the fine tuning. It solves the problem of interference in the particular channel. The problem can be easily solved by slight antenna reorientation. In many automatic rotors there is directional calibrated knob. The knob enables the antenna to turn in desired direction and stop immediately. With the help of antenna rotors the user can enjoy more convenience and more reception.

Process of installing rotors

For installation of rotor assemble the antenna and attach it. In case of long antennas a rotor should be long enough and with a rotor alignment bearing. Transmission line should be attached to the antenna. The wire of the rotor is available in many types but the most convenient one has three conductors. In order to prevent the corrosion and rusting the wires should not touch each other. Now day’s antenna rotors are also available with the remote control system. This new system can be installed by replacing the manual control unit. The manual control unit will be replaced by rotor control unit and infrared remote control. This system will simplify its use to much more extend.
