Choosing Right Direction For Antenna

Choosing right direction for antenna

Antenna:

Antennas are the electronic devices that are used to transmit and receive radio signals. These are electrical conductors for radio waves. Heinrich hertz discovered antennas in 1888. He discovered the antennas to prove the existence of electromagnetic waves. They convert radio frequency electrical current to electromagnetic waves and vice versa. They usually work in the open air and space. The new and modern technology has made them to work under water, through soil and rock at certain frequencies for short distances. The antennas are used in systems like radio, television broadcasting, radio communication, radar, and space exploration. An antenna generates a radiating electromagnetic field.

Choosing right direction for an antenna:

An antenna is important and essential component for home entertainment system. The normal antenna responds well to signals arriving in one direction. An antenna should be fixed in such a place, which is easy for it to receive signals. The direction is one of the important things to be considered when placing an antenna. The antenna should be faced to the direction of transmission. This helps in proper reception of signals. A multiple directional antenna works in a circular manner that is 360 degree. If the antenna is slightly tilted parallel to the direction of the transmission then it receives good signals. It is better to place two antennas one being in horizontal direction and the other being in the vertical direction. This helps for the antennas to receive both horizontal and vertical signals. The antenna direction control devices controls the direction of the antenna.

Advantages of right direction for an antenna:

A right direction allows an antenna to receive good signals. A right direction is very important for a normal antenna, as it is able to receive signals in a particular direction. Where in the multiple directional antennas receive signals in all directions. When the antenna is placed in the right direction it provides good picture and sound effects to the television. This helps a person to watch and listen to the radio peacefully. The antenna that is attached to the computer allows him to work peacefully. It right direction avoids the environmental disturbances like, noise and air disturbances. When there are no disturbances the antenna provides even better signals.
